  1. the reason NFL players are paid so little is because the last time they had a strike the owners used replacement players and everybody saw the ratings did not decline that much. players lost all leverage after that and capitulated to owners.

    football fans will support their uniform and helmet no matter who's inside. basketball depends on stars for ratings.

  3. Its 'money out of thin air.' They are putting numbers in a bank account, and controlling how the bulk of it is spent. I'd love to see what would happen if a player asked to be paid in gold!
